Nick Worskett, Senior Specialist (Books & Manuscripts), at Christies, South Kensington, London, will be in Durban on that day to undertake the valuations.
Brief profile of Nick Worskett
Nick Worskett joined Christie's South Kensington in 1992 following training
in galleries in London and New York and four years with the Book Department
of another auction house. Nick has a particular interest in modern first
editions, private press and fine printing, children's books, 19th and 20th
Century literature and philosophy, as well as printed maps and atlases. Nick
has led the sale of Book sections in many house sales and collections, most
recently the highly successful sale of the Peter Bologna Collection of
Modern First Editions, and the libraries of Fort Augustus, Brocket Hall and
Chirk Castle in which Hamilton's "Collection of Etruscan, Greek and Roman
Antiquities" realized £55,000 - a world record price for the book.
Nick read English at Exeter College, Oxford (2:1) with particular emphasis
on the 19th and 20th Century (Ruskin, Pater, Morris etc).
